About (Biography)

Born and momentarily raised in Minneapolis, MN, Taylor Longworth had spent his early years listening to the record collection of his father and mother.  He, a Naval Reservist/dental student becoming an orthodontist; she,  the best mother seven children could ever ask for.  Taylor vividly remembers being told how he would stand in front of the old  stereo cabinet and rock back and forth to the music.  Ever since his earliest days, he loved music.

Taylor left home to attend the University of  South Dakota to study music, accounting and food service.  As a student at the University, however, he could not escape the allure of songwriting and  began the journey to become a songwriter. He began by filling notebooks with words and investigating the nuances of the guitar and piano.  From simple major chord progressions to rhythmic hypnotic lyrics, Taylor's love of songwriting was uncontrollable. Once he began writing, he never stopped.

Taylor left college three times before earning his degree.  He decided to return to his adopted hometown to immerse himself  in the music scene and work on recording there.  The years that followed included bands, romance, travel, recording, marriage, children (2 boys) and life in general.   "I became a student of life just like J.Q. Public.",  he recalls.

His first recording, the four song EP 'tracing a line'  with row of chairs was followed by the various artists release 'you and whose army'. The songs kept coming and with the release of  his debut CD, 'bend the rules', Taylor has begun another chapter.

In addition to solo acoustic shows and acoustic/electric shows (where he is  joined by various combination of Patrick Howey, Aaron Twedt,  Joel Anderson and Shawn Lenning) to promote 'bend the rules', Taylor is also currently working once again with producer Skip Harding at Gopher Recording Studios, as well as with Chris Paulson at Mind Machine Studios, for an early spring '10 release of his follow up CD.  His love of songwriting and recording is infectious. But in a good way.

On the subject of music videos, Daniel and Halli Bublitz of Silent Mist Media have been working on putting together the elements for a planned late winter premiere of one or two selections from 'bend the rules'.
